6. If a student cannot cope with a task, which seems to be surmountable for everyone else in the class – revise your worksheets. Delete the problem points from the worksheet and leave the rest of the original to use it as a "frame". Set up some problems correlated with the student’s level (double figure subtraction with no regrouping, subtraction data to 18) and stick them to the modified original. After you duplicate it, the student receives a worksheet resembling anyone else's; but now this student can do work at his/her own level.
7. You could have a wide assortment of multi-level reading books in your classroom. There must be a listening center as well. Afford an opportunity for those who wish to record some relevant chapters of your textbooks on tape, so as to serve students with disabilities as a tool.
8. Make use of graphic organizers like story maps to aid students with written tasks. Outlines can assist students to look for meaning when they read. Work out a chapter outline and give it to all the students. This will inure them to heed the important points in a chapter.
9. Apply color-coded record cards in a file box to keep track purposes and changes of your students. These cards shouldn’t contain students’ names! With color-coding, you have the information close at hand not infringing on privacy.

As everybody knows, a special education class calls for collection of behavioral systems. A couple of effectual strategies are cited as an example.

Point system:
At the end of the day all students in the class receive charts with points they have deserved for the whole day: reading, math, behavior, homework, and the like. Every day parents must sign the chart and their children return it to teacher. It is not out of place to write comments to the parents on the charts, so as to keep continuous contact with them.

Recess/lunch tickets:
Sometimes students hold the opinion that assistants have less authority than teachers do. You may apply an effective remedy for the students encouraging them to earn "tickets" at recess and lunch for their good behavior. The fact that assistant distribute the tickets consolidate his or her status among the classmates. Try to hold a raffle for a prize every week.
