In order to image how gifted children prove themselves in one or another field several groups of characteristics are adduced at once.

• shows comparable internal of general intellectual ability but concentrated around one or more fields
• possesses enlarged attention span in areas of interest
• learns rather fast, with ease and with less reiteration in one or more specific areas (presumably not all subject areas)
• prefers or keen on one or more areas of knowledge
• likes to study some subjects more than others
• times to academic project beyond routine assignments but voluntarily
• is able to enrich his/her experience from the key areas to various situations dissimilar a bit in orientation
• is very promising in one or more subject areas
• has objective self-appraisal, can give an appraisal of others' comparative abilities in key areas of interest
• tries to find support of others beyond coevals so as to increase the knowledge in areas of interest
